Dart Products Europe is pleased to announce their participation with the Square Mile Challenge, an essential step toward the recovery and recycling of paper hot cups. The Square Mile challenge is a partnership between the Simply Cups scheme, the UK’s sole paper and plastic cup collection and recycling service, and the environmental charity Hubbub.
The Square Mile Challenge will occur across the city of London throughout April, with an overall aim to recover and recycle one million paper hot cups with the help of businesses and residents. The project will be implemented through cup collection and on street recycling bins, solely funded by participating manufacturers and coffee retailers. The project is widely supported by the City of London Corporation as well as Network Rail; the rail network will be aiding in the collection of cups at London’s Liverpool Street Station.
Anne Sutton, Director of Global Innovation & Regional Manager for Governmental Affairs and Environment said “The Square Mile Challenge will set the way for a movement that will prove vital to our environment. By brand names and high profile businesses joining the campaign, not only can we educate the public on how to correctly recycle paper hot cups but demonstrate that there is a viable and long-term solution to the subject of recyclability”
Dart Products Europe is proud to be part of a project that will leave an on-going legacy and encourage the effective recycling of paper hot cups. The Square Mile challenge is open for organisations to join with participation packages available.
